Founded in 1970 by the Free State of Bavaria as a “reform university,” the University of Augsburg is a comparatively young institution. Yet in just over five decades, it has grown into a dynamic centre of learning and research with eight faculties and over 20,000 students. Academic Excellence and Interdisciplinary Research
At the University of Augsburg, you will find a remarkably broad spectrum of academic offerings — approximately 40 Bachelor’s and State Examination programmes and 50 Master’s degree programmes across the humanities, social sciences, natural and technical sciences, law, economics, theology, and medicine.
