Founded on 27 March 2000, the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) emerged as the first private university established in Macao following its return to the Motherland. Conceived and proposed by the Elite Education Development Society, with Professor Zhou Li Gao serving as its first president, the institution began with four founding faculties: Information Technology, Management and Administration, Law, and Chinese Medicine.
